SPECIAL EDITION

BELIEVE IN GRACE

Grace O’Malley, the pirate queen of Ireland, lived during the time of Queen Elizabeth I and to this day is still considered as one of the world’s most influential women in history.
Inspired by the female archetype, after which even the style icon Grace Kelly was named, we created the Special Edition “Believe in Grace”. It is a homage to female strength and beauty.

Colours, prints and designs originate in the wildness of Ireland’s coast and sea. Caftan, Cape and Kimono will launch as extravagant statement pieces in new trend colours enriched with volant details.

Our Special Editions support responsible environmental and social projects. For our “Believe in Grace” edition we will donate 100€ per dress to Children for Tomorrow, an organisation founded by Steffi Graf, to support and improve refugee girls’ future opportunities.

ABOUT

GRACE O’MALLEY

Grace O’Malley up to this day symbolizes female strength and willpower. Born in 1530 in Ireland as the daughter of a clan chief, she made a name for herself as the first woman to lead a military at sea against England. As “The Pirate Queen” she became an Irish national heroine around whom numerous poems and stories of modern times ramble. She inspired with her military mastermind, her navigational talent, her feeling for the sea and her mercy towards the captured enemies. We at Lemanjá admire her courage, her strength and her feminine gentleness.

ABOUT

CHILDREN FOR TOMORROW

In our mission to make our contribution, we have deliberately chosen an organization that has been dedicated to helping disadvantaged children, especially girls, for a long time. For over 20 years, Steffi Graf’s foundation “Children for Tomorrow” has been providing traumatized children with psychological help. The team of doctors and psychotherapists works with refugee children, helps in war zones and there where poverty and violence are particularly present.

In Germany, they set up the “Refugee Outpatient Clinic for Children, Young People and Their Families” thus creating a supportive service for up to 500 young people a year. Besides, the team develops worldwide aid projects such as the construction of kindergartens in the Asmara Township in Eritrea and the support and training of doctors and psychologists in Uganda. To heal the inner wounds of a traumatized young generation which has so much potential to influence this world positively is the most important reason for us to give all proceeds from the BELIEVE IN GRACE Edition to this organization.
